9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5
Description The issue is caused by a buffer overflow vulnerability in the firewall handler set function of the Milesight UR32L router's firmware. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The buffer overflow occurs due to the use of an unsafe sprintf pattern and can be triggered by a specially crafted HTTP request. The index and description variables are involved in this vulnerability.
Recommendations For Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5, consider disabling the firewall handler set function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the vtysh ubus binary to minimize the risk of arbitrary code execution. Avoid using the index and description variables in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
