Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5
Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow vulnerability in the
handle interface acl function of the Milesight UR32L router's firmware. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The buffer overflow occurs when the interface variable is used with in acl set to -1. A specially crafted HTTP request can trigger this vulnerability, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution.Recommendations
For Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5, consider disabling the
handle interface acl function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vtysh ubus binary to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the interface variable in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
