CVE-2023-25119

CVSS v2.0

8.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5
Description Multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in the vtysh ubus binary due to the use of an unsafe sprintf pattern. A specially crafted HTTP request can lead to arbitrary code execution. An attacker with high privileges can send HTTP requests to trigger these vulnerabilities. This buffer overflow occurs in the set pptp function with the remote subnet and the remote mask variables.
Recommendations For Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the set pptp function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vtysh ubus binary to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the remote subnet and remote mask variables in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
