Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the
firewall handler set function, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. A specially crafted HTTP request can trigger this issue, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution. The buffer overflow occurs with the index and to dport variables.Recommendations
For Milesight UR32L version 32.3.0.5, consider disabling the
firewall handler set function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vtysh ubus binary to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the index and to dport variables in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
