Description
A Buffer Overflow issue in the tiffcp function of Libtiff allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability is related to a buffer overflow in memory, which can be exploited to disrupt service. The tiffcp function in tiffcp.c is specifically affected.
Recommendations
For Libtiff version 4.0.7, consider disabling the tiffcp function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the tiffcp.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
