Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-619L version 2.02
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the
websGetVar function, which can be exploited to cause a denial of service. This can be achieved by a remote attacker, allowing them to disrupt the service. The buffer overflow occurs when data is written beyond the buffer's boundaries in memory.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-619L version 2.02, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
websGetVar function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
