| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Better Font Awesome WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.0.4
Description
The issue arises from the plugin's failure to validate and escape certain shortcode attributes before outputting them in a page or post, potentially allowing users with the contributor role or higher to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. This could enable a remote attacker to conduct an inter-site scripting attack.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.0.4, update to version 2.0.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of shortcodes or limiting user roles to minimize the risk of exploitation.
