Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command, also known as 'os command injection', in FortiSIEM. This allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via crafted API requests. The exploitation of this issue may enable a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For FortiSIEM versions 6.4.0 through 6.4.2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For FortiSIEM versions 6.5.0 through 6.5.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For FortiSIEM versions 6.6.0 through 6.6.3, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For FortiSIEM versions 6.7.0 through 6.7.5, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For FortiSIEM version 7.0.0, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable API endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation.
