CVSS v2.0
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.5.0 through 8.5.4
Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.6.0 through 8.6.5
Description
The issue is related to insufficient checking of arguments passed to a command, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. This is due to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command, also known as 'os command injection'. An attacker can exploit this by sending specifically crafted HTTP GET request parameters, potentially leading to the execution of unauthorized code or commands.
Recommendations
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.5.0 through 8.5.4, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.6.0 through 8.6.5, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable
http get request parameters until a patch is available.Fix
