CVE-2023-36549

CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.5.0 through 8.5.4 Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.6.0 through 8.6.5
Description The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an os command, also known as 'os command injection'. This allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via specifically crafted HTTP GET request parameters. The exploitation of this issue can enable a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.5.0 through 8.5.4, consider disabling the vulnerable functionality related to HTTP GET requests until a patch is available. For Fortinet FortiWLM versions 8.6.0 through 8.6.5, restrict access to the affected module to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using specifically crafted HTTP GET request parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved.
