Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability when parsing a crafted file, which could result in a read past the end of an allocated memory structure. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, specifically that a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations For Adobe Substance 3D Designer versions 12.4.0 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of crafted USDC files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the opening of files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
