Description
The issue is related to a use-after-free vulnerability in the brcmf cfg80211 detach function of the brcm80211 component in the Linux kernel. This vulnerability can be exploited by physically proximate attackers with local access, potentially allowing them to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability is related to the brcmf cfg80211 escan timeout worker function in the drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/brcm80211/brcmfmac/cfg80211.c file.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.6.28, update to version 6.6.28 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting local access to minimize the risk of exploitation.
