Description
The issue is related to improper restriction of operations within the bounds of a memory buffer. If a user opens a specially crafted file, such as X1, V8, or V9 files, information may be disclosed and/or arbitrary code may be executed. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially formed file.
Recommendations
For TELLUS versions 4.0.17.0 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of X1, V8, or V9 files until a patch is available.
For TELLUS Lite versions 4.0.17.0 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of X1, V8, or V9 files until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to files that may trigger the issue until a fix is provided.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
