Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a network protocol implementation in the Linux kernel, specifically the J1939 protocol. It involves the reuse of previously freed memory in the
j1939 netdev start() function within the net/can/j1939/main.c module due to concurrent access to ndev->ml priv->j1939 priv, resulting in a race condition. This could allow an attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
