CVE-2023-44429

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GStreamer (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the AV1 Codec parsing of the GStreamer multimedia framework. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. The flaw exists within the parsing of AV1 encoded video files due to the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
