Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software (affected versions not specified) Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the remote access VPN feature could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. This issue is due to improper handling of HTTPS requests. An attacker could exploit this by sending crafted HTTPS requests to an affected system, potentially causing resource exhaustion and resulting in a DoS condition.
Recommendations For Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software, consider restricting access to the remote access VPN feature until a patch is available. For Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software, consider disabling the handling of HTTPS requests in the remote access VPN feature as a temporary workaround. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
