CVSS v2.0
8.3
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Groundhogg WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.7.9.4
Description
The issue is related to the Groundhogg WordPress plugin, which does not properly sanitize and escape a parameter before using it in a SQL statement. This leads to a SQL injection that can be exploited by high-privilege users, such as admins. The exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.7.9.4, update to version 2.7.9.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's SQL functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable parameter in SQL statements until the issue is resolved.
