CVE-2023-48582
CVSS v2.0
6.1
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:C/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.18 and earlier
Description
The issue is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that could be abused by a low-privileged attacker to inject malicious scripts into vulnerable form fields. Malicious JavaScript may be executed in a victim’s browser when they browse to the page containing the vulnerable field. This occurs due to inadequate protection of the web page structure, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.18 and earlier, update to a version that includes a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to vulnerable form fields to minimize the risk of malicious script injection. Additionally, disabling the execution of JavaScript in browsers when browsing to potentially vulnerable pages may help mitigate the risk until a patch is applied.
