Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.18 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that could be abused by a low-privileged attacker to inject malicious scripts into vulnerable form fields. Malicious JavaScript may be executed in a victim’s browser when they browse to the page containing the vulnerable field. The vulnerability is also described as a failure to protect the web page structure, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.18 and earlier, consider disabling the vulnerable form fields until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the vulnerable fields in the affected forms until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
