CVE-2023-47539
CVSS v3.1
9.8
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FortiMail versions prior to 7.4.0
Description
The issue is related to the implementation of the RADIUS protocol in FortiMail's email protection system, specifically with access control limitations when using the Remote wildcard configuration. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to bypass the authentication procedure. A crafted HTTP request can allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to bypass admin login.
Recommendations
For FortiMail versions prior to 7.4.0, consider disabling the Remote wildcard configuration as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to the admin login interface until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
