Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow vulnerability in the
spdtstConfigAndStart function of the Tenda i29 wireless access point's firmware. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The buffer overflow occurs via the ip parameter in the spdtstConfigAndStart function.Recommendations
For Tenda i29 version 1.0 V1.0.0.5, consider disabling the
spdtstConfigAndStart function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation of the buffer overflow vulnerability via the ip parameter. Restrict access to the vulnerable function to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the ip parameter in the affected function until the issue is resolved.
