Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes Db2 Connect Server) version 11.5
Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the IBM DB2 database management system and IBM DB2 Connect Server, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a specially crafted query. An authenticated user with CONNECT privileges can cause this denial of service.
Recommendations
For IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes Db2 Connect Server) version 11.5, consider restricting access to the database until a patch is available, and limit the privileges of authenticated users to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ability to send specially crafted queries to the database server until a fix is applied.
