CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free flaw was found in the ext4 remount() function in the Linux kernel, specifically in fs/ext4/super.c in ext4. This issue is related to the handling of old quota file names with the CONFIG QUOTA configuration. The flaw allows a local user to cause an information leak problem while freeing the old quota file names before a potential failure, leading to a use-after-free. This could impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
