Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GRUB2 (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write when handling split HTTP headers. When GRUB2's HTTP code processes split HTTP headers, it accidentally moves its internal data buffer point by one position, potentially leading to an out-of-bound write when parsing the HTTP request. This can result in writing a NULL byte past the buffer, which may allow an attacker to corrupt GRUB2's internal memory metadata. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
