CVE-2023-52472

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a potential NULL dereference in the crypto/rsa module of the Linux kernel. Static checkers have identified that the mpi alloc() allocation can fail, and a check has been added to prevent this. Although small allocations like this cannot actually fail in current kernels, adding a check is simple and makes the static checkers happy. The vulnerability is associated with the rsa check exponent fips() function and may allow an attacker to impact the availability of protected information.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
