CVE-2023-26916

CVSS v3.1

5.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libyang versions 2.0.164 through 2.1.30
Description The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the lys parse mem() function of the libyang library, which is used for YANG data modeling language parsing. This could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service when checking if the mod->revision value is NULL.
Recommendations For versions 2.0.164 through 2.1.30, consider disabling the lys parse mem() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the lys parse mem.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
