Description
The issue is related to a Stack Buffer Underflow via the
CountVowelPosition() function at synthdata.c. This could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code. The vulnerability is associated with improper memory management under certain circumstances.Recommendations
For Espeak-ng version 1.52-dev, consider disabling the
CountVowelPosition() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the synthdata.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
