CVE-2023-52902

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a memory leak in the nommu component of the Linux kernel, specifically in the do mmap() error path. The preallocation of the maple tree nodes may leak if the error path to "error just free" is taken. This can be fixed by moving the freeing of the maple tree nodes to a shared location for all error paths. The exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
