VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free bug in the powermate driver. This happens when the device is disconnected, leading to a memory free from the powermate device struct. When an asynchronous control message completes after the kfree and its callback is invoked, the lock does not exist anymore, resulting in the bug. The bug can be exploited to potentially elevate privileges.
