Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to the mctp component in the Linux kernel, where route lookups are performed without proper read-side critical section locks, leading to potential preemption and parallel kfree issues. This could result in a use-after-free (UAF) condition when introducing a delay in the route lookup during simultaneous sendmsg and route deletion. The
mctp route lookup and mctp route lookup null functions are affected.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
