Description The issue in the stricmp component of openlink virtuoso-opensource allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via crafted SQL statements. This is due to the incorrect neutralization of special elements used in SQL commands. Exploitation of the issue may allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service using specially crafted SQL operators.
Recommendations For openlink virtuoso-opensource version 7.2.9, consider disabling the stricmp component as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to SQL commands to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using specially crafted SQL statements in the affected component until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
