CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.39 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.2 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.0.1 and prior
Description A difficult to exploit vulnerability in MySQL Server allows a low privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service of MySQL Server. The issue is related to incorrect clearance or release of resources in the Client Programs component.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.39 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.39. For versions 8.4.2 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.2. For versions 9.0.1 and prior, update to a version later than 9.0.1. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the MySQL protocol to minimize the risk of exploitation.
