Low
| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle Database Server versions 19.3 through 19.24
Oracle Database Server versions 21.3 through 21.15
Oracle Database Server versions 23.4 through 23.5
Description
The issue is related to insufficient protection of internal data due to incorrect input validation in the Java VM component of Oracle Database Server. This can allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to read, modify, or delete data using the Oracle Net protocol. The vulnerability is difficult to exploit and requires a low-privileged attacker with Create Session and Create Procedure privileges and network access via Oracle Net to compromise the Java VM. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some Java VM accessible data.
Recommendations
For Oracle Database Server versions 19.3 through 19.24, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue.
For Oracle Database Server versions 21.3 through 21.15, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue.
For Oracle Database Server versions 23.4 through 23.5, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Java VM component until a patch is available.
Restrict network access via Oracle Net to minimize the risk of exploitation.
