CVE-2023-4135

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions QEMU (affected versions not specified)
Description A heap out-of-bounds memory read flaw was found in the virtual nvme device in QEMU. The QEMU process does not validate an offset provided by the guest before computing a host heap pointer, which is used for copying data back to the guest. This can allow an attacker to disclose arbitrary heap memory relative to an allocated buffer. The issue is related to the nvme fdp events() function and involves reading data beyond the boundaries of a buffer in memory.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
