CVE-2023-52795

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a use after free and double free error in the vhost vdpa probe() function of the vhost-vdpa component in the Linux kernel. This error occurs because the put device() call invokes vhost vdpa release dev(), which in turn calls ida simple remove() and frees the variable v. The subsequent call to ida simple remove() results in a use after free and a double free. Exploitation of this issue could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
