CVE-2023-52738

CVSS v3.1

5.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the amdgpu fence driver sw fini() function, which can cause a denial of service. The problem occurs when the drm sched fini() function is called without its counterpart drm sched init() being executed successfully. This can happen during a driver probe failure, as seen in the Steam Deck. To prevent this, a check is added to ensure the drm sched is properly initialized for a given ring before calling its fini counter-part.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
