Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-619L B1 version 2.06
Description
A critical vulnerability was found in the function
formSetDDNS of the file /goform/formSetDDNS. The manipulation of the argument curTime leads to a buffer overflow. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This issue is related to the copying of a buffer without checking the size of the input data when processing the curTime parameter, which can allow an attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a specially crafted POST request.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-619L B1 version 2.06, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formSetDDNS function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formSetDDNS endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the curTime argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
