CVE-2024-49393

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mutt and NeoMutt (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to errors in cryptographic signature verification when processing header fields. This allows a remote attacker to modify the list of trusted recipients and disclose protected information. Specifically, the To and Cc email headers are not validated by cryptographic signing, enabling an attacker who intercepts a message to change their value and include themselves as one of the recipients, thus compromising message confidentiality.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
