CVE-2025-21497

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior
Description The issue is related to the InnoDB component of Oracle MySQL Server and is caused by inadequate authorization procedure due to incorrect input validation. This can be easily exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, allowing them to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of MySQL Server's accessible data.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the InnoDB component until a patch is available.
