CVE-2025-21523

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior
Description The issue is related to the InnoDB component of Oracle MySQL Server and is caused by inadequate authorization procedure due to incorrect input handling. This easily exploitable issue allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server, potentially resulting in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
