CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior
Description The vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL, specifically in the Server: Parser component, is related to unlimited resource allocation. This issue can be easily exploited, allowing a low-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete Denial of Service) of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
