CVE-2022-48828

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to an integer underflow in the NFSD component of the Linux kernel. This underflow occurs because the ia size variable, which is a signed 64-bit type, can be assigned a value larger than S64 MAX when an NFS client sends a file size value that exceeds the maximum limit handled by Linux. The underflow happens in the nfsd setattr() function, which is part of the common code path for both NFSv3 and NFSv4.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
