CVSS v3.1
8.8
High
| Vector | AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions prior to 8.1.0
Description
The issue is related to a possible out of bounds stack write due to a missing bounds check in the
HeadsetInterface::ClccResponse function of btif hf.cc. This could lead to remote escalation of privilege via Bluetooth, if the recipient has enabled SIP calls with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android versions prior to 8.1.0, update to version 8.1.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling SIP calls via Bluetooth until a patch is available. Restrict access to the
HeadsetInterface::ClccResponse function to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
