CVE-2020-36777

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the dvb media device free() function. The leak occurs because the dvbdev->adapter->conn is not freed before being set to NULL. According to the documentation in include/media/media-device.h, the media entity instance itself must be freed explicitly by the driver if required. The issue is resolved by freeing dvbdev->adapter->conn before setting it to NULL.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
