Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions D-Link DCS-8300LHV2 (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the handling of the SetHostName ONVIF call. This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root.
