CVE-2021-47153

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the i2c-i801 driver in the Linux kernel, which supports interrupts. When the KILL bit is set to recover from a timed out transaction, it triggers an interrupt. However, the interrupt handler i801 isr is not prepared for this situation and tries to process the interrupt as if it was signaling the end of a successful transaction. This can result in an out-of-range memory access, particularly in the case of a block transaction. The condition was reproduced several times by syzbot.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
