Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the
rds recvmsg function. The issue was caused by an unputted refcount in case of error. When rds cmsg recv fails, the refcount is not decremented, leading to a memory leak. This can be seen in the ftrace log, where rds inc addref does not have a corresponding rds inc put pair in rds recvmsg after rds cmsg recv.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
