CVE-2021-47321

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a possible use-after-free in the Linux kernel's watchdog driver. The driver's remove path calls del timer(), which does not wait until the timer handler finishes, potentially resulting in a use-after-free. This can be fixed by calling del timer sync(), ensuring the timer handler has finished and cannot re-schedule itself.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
