CVE-2021-47449

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-rc4+
Description The issue is related to a lock added around the Tx timestamp tracker flow in the Linux kernel, which can lead to a deadlock if a mutex actually sleeps. This lock is problematic because it is being held around a call to ice clear phy tstamp(), a function that takes a mutex to send a PHY write command to firmware. The deadlock can cause a warning on a kernel with preemption debugging enabled.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
