Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Skitter Slideshow plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.5.2
Description The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to make web requests to arbitrary locations originating from the web application via the "image.php" file. This can be used to query and modify information from internal services. The estimated number of potentially affected devices worldwide is not specified. There is no information provided about real-world incidents where this issue was exploited.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.5.2, consider disabling access to the "image.php" file as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to internal services to minimize the risk of exploitation. Update to a version later than 2.5.2 when available.
